Early this month I got a few items from one of my favourite places to shop - Harrods! I was excited to receive them today. :D I must say, the way it was beautifully packaged made it even more special. I will definitely be reusing this box to store some of my beauty items. ^_^
In case you don't know already, Burberry Beauty is one of my most favourite cosmetic brands (top-most particularly for their eye shadows and my current all time favourite lipstick), so of course, I just couldn't pass up on their "Iconic Nude" summer collection for 2012 as soon as it became available. This collection is a bit different from most summer collections released by other brands, because it's more natural and glowing (as opposed to including bright corals and tangerines, etc), and in keeping with Burberry's iconic look.
I picked up their limited edition Sheer Glow Powder (a natural highlighting compact consisting of four shades) and three of their four new Lip Mists that have been added to their permanent range. It's a relief (to the pocket) to finally come across a much smaller collection given there's been so many great collections of late that's been hard to resist! I also love the fact that most of the items that Burberry Beauty have released so far become part of the permanent line rather than having so many limited editions that other brands tend towards. So, there's no need to make such rushed purchases and if you end up loving any of their items, you can always repurchase later on if you need to. Being a great fan of this makeup brand, I always look forward to their new collections and so far, I haven't come across an item that I haven't enjoyed - so, personally, it makes it hard for me to wait! ;-)
Anyway, enough rant about how much I love this brand! Back to my purchases...
Here's the newly released Lip Mists I purchased:
- Pink Heather No. 210 (neutral-cool medium pink)
- Nude Peach No. 212 (effectively, a nude peach)
- Field Rose No. 213 (warm rosey pink)
Apart from the new collection items, I also bought one of their original Lip Mists in 'Blueberry' (No. 206) seeing as it's autumn and all here down-under. I'd also been wanting to get this shade since it was released, so I did well to resist for so long. Hehe...
Meanwhile, there are quite a few photos and reviews online if you can't wait. In particular, The Beauty Look Book has her review and pretty good swatches of the Iconic Nudes collection, plus comparison swatches with other shades in the line as well as other brands.
