Vinessa Shaw and Hocus Pocus 2
Vinessa Shaw played Allison in Hocus Pocus. The film was not very popular when it first came out, but that was mainly due to some errors in marketing by the studio such as releasing a Halloween film in summertime. Eventually the film began to catch on and became a huge holiday favourite and a cult classic. Of course because Hollywood was bereft of new ideas, eventually there started to be talk of a possible sequel because they knew that there was money there to be made. Never mind that it was many years later and it had been a lifetime since the movie was made. Of course anything that they were to make would be compared to the original and they would have to work very hard to for anything with the brand name on it to not be a disappointment on some level. Of course, they were not going to let this stop them. The studio of course just wanted to throw anything together as cheaply as possible as it was just going to be a cash grab for them. They didn’t really care if they screwed up the characters that people loved and had grown up watching. They just wanted to make an easy buck. They enjoyed churning out derivative, soulless, cookie cutter drivel that leached of the popularity of other things. They even discussed a reboot.
Eventually, it was agreed that a sequel would be made. They decided that the most obvious way of doing it was to have a new set of teens awake the Sanderson Sisters and have to fight them off again with the help of the cast from the previous film. Vinessa would play Allison again. Allison had married Max and they had children together. Of course they were the ones who lit the candle and awoke the witches. Dani returned again as well. All in all, it was not a bad idea for sequel. It was not ground breaking or unique, but on paper it sounded like something people would want to watch, if having no real reason to exist other than to capitalise on the popularity of the previous film and to make money for the studio. It would be a very fun movie though, hopefully.
Vinessa was the object of many a crush when she played Allison in the previous film. She looked much older than the teenager she had played. Now as an adult, she looked even more attractive than she had when she was in the original film. She was an incredibly sexy MILF. She would certainly be object of many more crushes.
In this film, there was going to be a running gag where the witches were going to take some messy pratfalls as well as the other characters. The witches were angry with Allison and her friends for defeating them previously. They were eager to get some revenge upon them for this. There were going to be occasions when this would take the form of messiness. There were several scenes in the movie that involved messy jokes. There was a lot of slapstick involved in the film for sure.
There was one scene towards the beginning in particular where Allison had set herself up in a circle of salt in a graveyard so the witches could not get at her. They were hovering above her on their brooms, frustrated by this, but they decided to get to her another way. Winnie decided to cast one of her spells. “I cast on you from the sky. To fall on you let rain the slime.” She pointed her fingers at Allison. Out of her fingers, much like the lightning bolts she had produced in the previous film, streams of gooey green slime were cast out, splattering Allison. She closed her eyes as the slime sprayed all over her, covering her from head to toe. It dripped down her face and body. She was dressed much as she was in the first film in a beige sweater and jeans. Her face and body were soon covered in green fluorescent slime. She screamed when it was covering her, but just wiped her eyes. The slime didn’t hurt her it was just meant to frighten her. She paused before running away towards Max and the others. “What happened to you?,” he asked. “Don’t even ask,” she replied,” They slimed me,” she said shrugging her shoulders, still dripping in the slime. Max tried not to laugh. “Hey, it could be worse,” he said. She rolled her eyes.
Later in the film, there was a scene where Allison and some of the others return to the graveyard while running away from the witches. They run through the graveyard gates and turn a corner quickly. Allison slips and falls over into a giant mound of piled muddy dirt. The dirt was soft and mushy. She fell face first into the pile. She was carrying the famous book at the time. She looked up to see the witches looking down upon her. The witches joked,” Have a nice trip? See you next fall.” They then pointed to another mound of dirt that they caused to dump all over her. They cackled, laughing at her. She looked up and sighed.
Another scene was a take-off of the scene in the first film where the parents were all at the dance. The witches sing a song that hypnotises everyone. The scene in this one was very similar with Allison and her friends on stage with the band trying to tell everyone about the return of the witches. This time the witches pointed above her. She looked up as a wave of pink gunge dumped down upon her from above. This caused everyone to point and laugh at her as she protested for them to listen to her. The witches then made green and pink slime rain down from the ceiling all over all of the adults in the room who were dancing.
There was also a scene where the heroes set the witches up. They pulled the classic prank of placing slime buckets over a door, so that when someone entered, the slime would fall all over the person opening the door. It was Allison’s idea. She demonstrated how it would work to the others. Unfortunately for her, as she was doing this, Billy jumped up out of nowhere. This startled her causing her to push the door. The slime fell all over her. She rolled her eyes and looked up. “See, I told you. It works every time.” They then set it up again. They then put in other traps for the witches when they entered the Sanderson house.
The witches snuck up to the door. “Where are you? Come out to see us,” Winnifred said. “I will play with thee. Where are you?,” the second witch said. The slowly crept to the door. They then pushed it open. When they did, pink gunge poured down onto them from above. This caused them to stumble and trip. They fell over into the table. Their faces landing in three Halloween pies that sat there. They then fell over into a door way. The door way had a plastic sheet covered in chocolate across it. They fell into this causing chocolate to stick all over them. As they turned around, a ton of feathers fell down all over them. Along with the feathers there was fuzzy fake spider webs and plastic spiders. They then fell over landing in trash cans on wheels. They were then pushed out the door. They flew out. The cans then fell over launching them into piles of mud similar to the one that Allison landed in earlier.
The blonde witch laughed and rubbed the mess all over herself. She was loving this. She found this very funny and enjoyable. She repeated,” I’m covered in muck, amuck, amuck amuck. What a pretty spider.” Winnie was crestfallen,” Shut up you fool,” she told her. She then pushed her face into the muck.
